Speak at 2024 MIT Sustainability Conference

Looking for 7 startups to present their technology at Lightning Talks and Lunch Exhibit - Oct 22 @Boston Marriott Cambridge.

OVERVIEW & KEY THEMES:

The transition to a sustainable future is driving a fundamental change in the global economy, challenging existing structures while accelerating innovation and forging new markets. To meet this generational challenge, stakeholders across industry, government, and academia are committing to ambitious net zero goals while seeking to driving growth.

MIT has identified Climate and Sustainability as the “greatest scientific and societal challenge of this or any age” and has developed a plan to “do bigger things faster.” The 2024 MIT Sustainability Conference will highlight leading MIT faculty, researchers, and MIT-connected startups aligned with this mission. Experts will share advancements related to energy generation and storage, carbon capture, and the decarbonization of industry. The impact of AI will be explored, in terms of both its unprecedented energy demands and its potential as a tool in climate mitigation. Participants are invited to take advantage of collaboration opportunities across MIT’s innovation ecosystem to amplify their impact.

Energy generation, energy storage, carbon capture, decarbonization, AI, resilient cities, land and oceans, among other related areas.

Selected startups must: prepare slide deck for a 5-min talk as per guidelines provided; participate in a virtual dry run to review slide deck, where needed; and have the bandwidth to meet all deadlines.

This type of events are attended by several hundred ILP global corporate members represented by senior executives, as well as by others from the innovation ecosystem, and provide an excellent forum for exploring partnerships and collaboration opportunities between startups and industry.

Commitment to Event Participation

By accepting to participate in an MIT Startup Exchange live event or virtual event you agree to adhere to the following: 

  • Commitment to the day/time of the event and event-related commitments (e.g. dry run presentations, preparation call/meeting). 
  • Commitment to the presentation and exhibition format/guidelines and deadlines, including but not limited to the submission of final presentation slides, signed consent form, requested company and speaker materials (bio, headshot, logo, etc.)
  • Commitment to completing the post-event feedback form by the noted deadline. 

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

Note: selection will be on a rolling basis, so apply ASAP.

To apply, please provide the following:

  • -brief description of your startup's technology-based product/services & 1 compelling use case; 
  • -brief description of current market traction (e.g. pilot, validation results, paying customers, etc.);
  • -speaker bio & a few words on the speaker’s experience as a speaker (optionally, including a video sample);
  • -one-paragraph explanation of the unique fit between the event/theme and the startup’s vision, technologies, products, or services.
  • NOTE 1: please make sure to update your Startup Exchange profile if you have not done so recently. An up-to-date profile will ensure we can correctly match you with corporate requests.
  • NOTE 2: priority during the selection process will be given to startups that have participated in an Assessment Call or have recently  provided an update to the MIT Startup Exchange team; as well as to startups who have not presented recently.
