Nexa Resources is a global mining company and one of the invested companies of Votorantim (one of the largest industrial conglomerates in Latin America). The company produces, refines, processes, and sells zinc, copper, silver, lead, gold, and sulfuric acid. Nexa Resources serves chemical, petrochemical, rubber, pulp, metallurgy, mining, agricultural, and other sectors in Brazil.
The theme of circular economy is very broad and linked to sustainable production. Their focus is on technologies that turn waste (from industries and mining) into value-added products, or raw materials for other industries. They are interested in clean environmental technologies for mining industry, including tailings, water and air purification.
Members of their technical team in metalurgry and chemical engineering and an innovation/new business staff member will be on campus on Thursday April 25 and Friday April 26 to meet with startups.
